Update from Rob and the Orlando Game Space
Thought I would pop in and give you all an update on the happenings at the Orlando Game Space. As you probably know by now I have moved my office to our incredible new location on Robinson, right across the street from Lake Eola. We have much work to do in order to get ready for our target opening date of Jan 1, 2018 but for now we have a few businesses up and running and doing our best to navigate our way through the dust and debris.
For those looking to find me they can connect through my website. I am currently taking appointments to discuss your career plans, resumes, networking and of course all of the great activities surrounding our thriving community. Don't be a stranger!
If you are not familiar with the Orlando Game Space it can be best described as a co-work space for those in gaming and interactive media. Our mission statement is simple -
COLLABORATE - EDUCATE - FACILITATE
Our goal is to create a space that is conducive to all three. Orlando has been getting national acclaim for it's incredible gaming and interactive media community and we want to be the space that unites and offers community among developers, artists, educators and enthusiasts. Whether an individual seeking a comfortable space to set up shop and make connections in the industry or a small start up looking for access to the latest technology in gaming, AR, VR, or audio the OGS will provide an atmosphere that combines office and shared work space that gives you the access to Central Florida's best in the industry. If you are looking for a private office or just a desk and an area to spread out we should chat. Amenities include a full kitchen - Lounge area with TV's and games - mail service - plenty of parking and easy access to the thriving downtown area.
Before our vision is complete we have a lot to do. Our office manager Chad Hoover has been busting his tail painting and organizing. We have already had one major clean up but there is a lot more work. In the next few months you can expect a plethora of fund raising and community activities to support and promote our efforts. We are currently accepting applications for tenants and actively looking for those who would like to get involved in sponsorship opportunities to help support out efforts. Educators and Universities, we especially want to talk to you!!!
Watch for events like the recent Indie Galactic Space Jam, Indienomicons weekly meet up at the Melrose Center and many educational lectures and presentations. We will soon be offering T-shirts and other assorted swag so be sure to stay tuned. Our social media is being updated as I type but you can follow the action on our Facebook page or stay tuned to this blog for more information as it becomes relevant.
In the meantime be sure to connect with me if you have questions, ideas, suggestions or just want to say hello. You know where to find me.
